The Keats-Shelley Association of America and Romantic Circles Pedagogy Anti-Racist Pedagogy Colloquium is soliciting submissions for their new resource on anti-racist teaching, Towards an Anti-Racist Pedagogy.
This webpage, which will be accessible through the K-SAA and RCP websites, will offer suggested readings, bibliographies of relevant scholarship, sample assignments and syllabi, and guides to use in the classroom. This project will be ongoing: the organizers goal is that each year, a new cohort will develop and expand the resource.
At this stage, organizers are requesting submissions of classroom activities, lesson plans, and sample syllabi that intersect with practicing anti-racist teaching. While we are interested in materials focused on Romanticism and Victorianism, they invite materials covering any period/location, pedagogical approach, and academic field.
Submissions from teachers of any rank or affiliation are welcome. At this stage, they are focusing on higher education classrooms, though we especially welcome activities and syllabi that can be adapted to high school and nontraditional learning environments. If selected, these resources will be featured online and authors will be credited as a contributor to the project. Contributors may also indicate how they would like their work to be cited. Organizers anticipate a website publication date of late spring 2022.
Contributions and any questions should be addressed to Indu Ohri at io3jc@virginia.edu by October 1, 2021.
