College Art Association 2022 Conference
The William Morris Society in the US
Chicago, IL
February 16-19, 2022
Call for session proposals! The William Morris Society in the US (WMS-US) invites proposals for its upcoming session at the College Art Association (CAA) 2022 conference, which is scheduled to be held February 16-19 in Chicago. The WMS-US is interested in hosting a session which relates to broad Morrisian ideas and the Arts & Crafts movement, but topics may span across all artistic periods and forms of art. Themes that are interdisciplinary, international, and include a variety of artistic media are encouraged. Those who would like to chair or co-chair this panel are invited to submit a proposed title for the session, a 250-word abstract, and a short CV. Please be aware that if the proposal is selected, the chair or co-chairs will be required to be members in good standing of CAA. The chair or co-chairs will have the responsibility of selecting panel contributors and coordinating the presentations for the conference. As a sponsor of the panel, the WMS-US will work with the chair or co-chairs to advertise for the panel through its newsletter, social media, and CAA's open call for papers. The proposals will be reviewed by a committee of WMS-US board members. Submissions should be sent to Monica Bowen at monica.bowen@gmail.com. Proposals are due by April 19, 2021. The selected proposal will be announced by April 23rd. This way, proposals which are not selected may be sent directly to CAA, which has a session proposal deadline of April 30th.
